The Note House respects and honors all LGBTQ+ friends and allies this month and EVERY month.
The history: The first Pride march was held on June 28, 1970 in NYC on the one-year anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising.
The Stonewall riots were a series of spontaneous demonstrations by members of the gay community in response to a police raid that began in the early morning hours of June 28, 1969, at the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village.
The Stonewall riots inspired LGBTQ people throughout the country to organize in support of gay rights, and within two years after the riots, gay rights groups had been started in nearly every major city in the United States.
